The Board of Directors of Lutheran Family Services of Colorado is comprised of eighteen members, 60% of which (11) are appointed from the Rocky Mt. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA); and the Rocky Mt. District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LC-MS) combined. The remaining seven members generally include other members of Lutheran churches, as well as representatives of other religious bodies with ministries in Colorado.
The Board meets quarterly to conduct the business of the corporation and currently includes members from fifteen different Colorado communities. Terms of office are three years with the possibility of serving a maximum of two terms.
